About the SOTU

There’s a place nearby where 
Water runs free and clear,          
Bringing life, hope, and joy.          
We are not nearly there.
 
Yesterday built a dam
A dam of words and spite.
A dam built of vileness,
Born of stupidity, 
Blindness, hatred, and fear. 

There’s a place nearby where  
Water will not be slowed.
It will run Free and clear.
It will not be dammed	
By blind hatred, and fear.

Water always rises,
And breaks over the dam,
To wash the dam away 
It will run free and clear
To bring life, hope, and joy. 

Yesterday built a dam.
Soon, tomorrow maybe,
It will be washed away
Buried in the muddy
Wastelands of history.
